JOHN GOODMAN (Jonesy), a St. Louis native, has become one of the industry's most versatile actors with acclaimed performances on stage, in motion pictures and on television. Following graduation from Southwest Missouri State University (which also counts Kathleen Turner and Tess Harper among its alumni), Goodman appeared in regional and off-Broadway theatrical productions, culminating in his Broadway debut in "Loose Ends" in 1979 (he also appeared on Broadway in "Big River" in 1985).

His motion picture debut followed in the HBO production "Mystery of Moro Castle." Goodman's memorable roles include performances in "Barton Fink" (for which he received a Golden Globe nomination), "The Flintstones" and "Raising Arizona." His other film credits include "Pie in the Sky," "Born Yesterday," "Matinee," "The Babe," "King Ralph," "Punchline," "Everybody's All-American," "Sea of Love," "Stella," "Eddie Macon's Run," "C.H.U.D.," Revenge of the Nerds," "Maria's Lovers," "Sweet Dreams," "True Stories," "The Big Easy," "Burglar" and "The Wrong Guys." Upcoming features include "The Borrowers," "Blues Brothers 2000" and "The Big Lebowski."

Goodman's work in television includes acclaimed performances in TNT's "Kingfish: A Story of Huey P. Long" (Emmy-nominated) and CBS' production of Tennessee Williams' "A Streetcar Named Desire" (Emmy-nominated). For the past seven seasons, the actor has played Dan Conner in "Roseanne"-a role that has earned him seven Emmy nominations and a Golden Globe Award.
