Scotland native EWAN McGREGOR starred in two of 1 996's most acclaimed films, Danny Boyle's smash sensation "Trainspotting" and Doug McGrath's "Emma" opposite Gwyneth Paltrow. He is also known to American audiences for his role in the thriller "Shallow Grave" and the inventive roadtrip adventure comedy "A Life Less Ordinary," both directed by Danny Boyle.

McGregor began studying drama at Kirkady in Fife at the age of sixteen and then went on to three years at London's Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He got his first break starring as Hopper in Dennis Potter's sixpart Channel 4 series "Lipstick On Your Collar," and then had a small part in Bill Forsyth's feature, "Being Human." This was followed by the lead role in Ben Bolt's BBC adaptation of Sterndahl's "Scarlet and Black." He also starred in the acclaimed feature "Blue Juice," about a group of British surfers.

Currently filming Stephen Elliott's "Eye of the Beholder" in Canada, McGregor will next be seen in "Rogue Trader" and the eagerly anticipated prequel to "Star Wars."
