MEET THE DEEDLES

STEVE VAN WORMER (Stew Deedle) recently appeared with Arnold Schwarzenegger in "Jingle All the Way" as the Turbo-Man Float Supervisor, and in forthcoming independent film "Hijacking Hollywood" opposite Henry Thomas.

With a background in sketch comedy performance and writing, Van Wormer came to Hollywood through the sponsorship of a Warner Bros. writing program, he soon moved into acting.

He was on the cutting edge of the Fox Network's interstitial programming segments, doing music and pop culture commentary as original material that runs concurrently with end credits of primetime series. Such segments included "SPIN on Fox," "Movie Premiere Parties" and "The Simpson's Homerpalooza Campaign." He has also worked as the West Coast correspondent for Lifetime Network's television magazine series "The Dish."

His other film credits include the forthcoming independent project "Desperate But Not Serious: The Mailroom Movie," and the short film "The Audition," which Van Wormer also wrote and produced.

Born in Grand Blanc, Michigan, Van Wormer knew at a very young age that he wanted to be an actor and is a self-professed fan of television and feature films. He studied at Michigan State University, majoring in telecommunications. Voted Funniest Man on Campus in a U.S. College Comedy competition, Van Wormer spent most of his off hours working as a co-writer and actor in "The Show," MSU's award-winning and student-produced sitcom. His work caught the attention of executives at Warner Bros. (and the former Lorimar) Television groups, and Van Wormer and his co-writer were selected and enrolled in the Studios' sitcom-writers' workshop.

After graduation, Van Wormer moved to Los Angeles and enrolled with The Groundlings' improvisational comedy acting school. With enthusiasm and a hunger for more performance time, he and other Groundlings school members began their own sketch comedy group, Caustic Casserole, performing at various clubs and venues including The Comedy Store and the Upfront Comedy Theater.
