KATHLEEN QUINLAN (Serene) will soon be seen with John Travolta
and William H. Macy in Touchstone Pictures' "A Civil Action,"
based on Johnathan Harr's nonfiction best seller. She was
last seen starring in the hit action thriller "Breakdown"
with Kurt Russell.
The Academy Award nominated actress ("Apollo 13") made
her film debut in George Lucas' classic, "American Graffiti,"
which led to a starring role opposite Sam Elliot and Anne Archer
in "Lifeguard." Later, she earned critical acclaim for
her performance as a teenage schizophrenic in "I Never Promised
You Rose Garden." After portraying Jim Morrison's witchgirlfriend
in Oliver Stone's "The Doors," and a contract killer
in "Trial by Jury," Quinlan was cast in Ron Howard's
"Apollo 13." Her heartfelt portrayal of Marilyn Lovell
garnered her both Academy Award and Gold Globe nominations as
Best Supporting Actress.
Quinlan's other film credits include "Zeus and Roxanne,"
"Event Horizon," "Independence Day," "Clara's
Heart," "Sunset," "Twilight Zone The
Movie," "The Last Winter" and "The Promise."
On Stage, Quinlan has appeared in "Les Liaisons Dangereuses"
at the Ahmanson Theater in Los Angeles, the Joseph Papp Public
Theater's production of "Taken in Marriage," which earned
her a Theater World Award in 1978, as well as the Los Angeles
Stage Company's production of "Uncommon Women and Others."
For television, Quinlin starred in Lifetime's critically acclaimed
"Stolen Children," as well as USA's "Trapped"
and HBO's "Blackout." Other television credits include
Hallmark's "American Story" and the CBS telefilm, "Children
of the Night."
