MARK WAHLBERG (Mel) starred in New Line Cinema's critically acclaimed 1997 release Boogie Nights. The film, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, chronicles the rise and fall of Wahlberg's character, Eddie Adams, a young man who becomes an adult film star.

Wahlberg made his film debut in Penny Marshall's comedy, Renaissance Man, as a young army recruit. He followed this performance with The Basketball Diaries, based on Jim Carroll's book, opposite Leonardo DiCaprio. His first starring role was in Universal Pictures' Fear, directed by James Foley. He then starred in Traveller with Bill Paxton.

He also has two hit albums to his credit, "Music for the People" and "You Gotta Believe." Following THE BIG HIT, Wahlberg will star in The Corruptor.
