JENNIFER JASON LEIGH portrays ALLEGRA GELLER, a super-star game designer on the run from fanatics. A veteran of nearly 40 films, Leigh has proven during her impressive film career that she is an actress of enormous range. Her extensive, in-depth research, which allows her to immerse herself both physically and psychologically in the characters she portrays, has garnered her many awards.

Among these awards are Best Actress at the 1995 Montreal Film Festival and the New York Film Critics Circle's Best Actress in the title role in Georgia. Directed by Ulu Grosbard, this film was a deeply personal work, which she also co-produced. For her portrayal of the legendary Dorothy Parker in Alan Rudolph's Mrs. Parker and the Vicious Circle, Leigh received the Best Actress citation from the National Society of Film Critics and the Chicago Film Critics. In 1990, she won both the New York Film Critics Circle and Boston Society of Film Critics awards for Best Supporting Actress for her work in Miami Blues and Last Exit to Brooklyn. Following eXistenZ, Leigh has performed on Broadway for six months as the legendary Sally Bowles in Cabaret.

Recently, Leigh worked with Robert Altman on Kansas City, marking her second association with the director, with whom she first collaborated on Short Cuts. The same year she starred in Bastard Out Of Carolina, Angelica Huston's directorial debut, and received wide praise for her performance as the shy heiress in Washington Square.

Leigh made her feature film debut in 1980 in Eyes of a Stranger, and then registered strongly with both critics and audiences for her performance as the reluctant virgin in Amy Heckerling's Fast Times at Ridgemont High. A series of movies followed in rapid succession, including Wrong is Right, Easy Money, Grandview, USA, The Men's Club, The Hitcher and The Big Picture, all shot in the 1980s. In 1991, Leigh appeared with an ensemble cast in Ron Howard's Backdraft and starred in Lili Fini Zanuck's Rush and Michael Bortman's Crooked Hearts. The next year, she played the sinister roommate in Barbet Schroeder's Single White Female, followed by Short Cuts, the Coen brother's The Hudsucker Proxy, Taylor Hackford's Dolores Claiborne and Jocelyn Moorehouse's A Thousand Acres.
