Movie-goers and television viewers have been charmed by nine-year-old
MAE WHITMAN (Bernice) since age three when a twist of fate
brought Whitman to her mother's commercial audition; Whitman ended
up booking the job herself. A year later she was cast opposite
Andy Garcia and Meg Ryan in "When a Man Loves a Woman."
She then played Matthew Modine's daughter in "Bye Bye Love,"
Bill Pullman's daughter in the smash hit "Independence Day,"
and starred opposite George Clooney and Michelle Pfeiffer in the
romantic comedy "One Fine Day." She was most recently
seen in the Robert Altman thriller, "The Gingerbread Man."
In addition, Whitman played the young Ashley in the
television biopic, "The Judds." She co-starred in "Degree
of Guilt," a mini-series based on the bestseller, and appeared
with Meredith Baxter in the movie-of-the-week, "After Jimmy."
Whitman can also be seen as Christine Lahti's daughter on the
critically-acclaimed "Chicago Hope."
