OUT OF SIGHT

JENNIFER LOPEZ began to study acting in 1990, and soon thereafter won a national competition for the coveted spot as a "Fly Girl" on Fox's television series, In Living Color. This was followed by roles in other series including South Central, Second Chance and Hotel Malibu.

Following her television experience, she was cast to star in the highly acclaimed feature film My Family/Mi Familia, directed by Gregory Nava. It was the first of two films she would do with Francis Ford Coppola, who executive produced. Her role as the young mother, Maria Sanchez, earned her an Independent Spirit Award nomination.

Lopez went on to star in many other films, such as Money Train opposite Woody Harrelson and Wesley Snipes; Francis Ford Coppola's Jack, with Robin Williams; opposite Jack Nicholson in Blood and Wine; and Anaconda, opposite Jon Voight, Eric Stoltz and Ice Cube. Jennifer's big break and chance to really shine came when she was chosen out of more than a thousand women to star as Selena in Selena, the biopic about the murdered Tejano singer, directed by Gregory Nava (Mi Familia).

This past year, Lopez starred opposite Sean Penn and Nick Nolte in U-Turn, directed by Oliver Stone.
