MARK CHRISTOPHER (Writer-Director) makes his feature film debut with "54". His short film "Alkali, Iowa" was a major festival hit and won the First Place Fiction Film award at the USA Film Festival, as well as the New Line Cinema Award (New York), the Absolut Auteur Award (San Francisco) and the Golden Teddy Award (Berlin). "Alkali, Iowa" was released theatrically by Strand. "The Dead Boy's Club", released in 1993, was also honored with several best short film awards. Christopher is a native of Fort Dodge, Iowa, and a graduate of Columbia University Film School in New York He recently signed a non-exclusive, two-picture directing deal with Miramax.
