ANNE HECHE portrays Beth Eastern, the frantic young attorney desperate to save her client's life by convincing his two friends to spend three years of their lives in a Malaysian prison.

Heche burst onto the scene as one of the entertainment industry's most sought-after actresses, her young career spanning the three mediums of film, television and theater. Most recently she starred opposite Harrison Ford in the hit romantic comedy Six Days, Seven Nights.

She was showered with critical acclaim for her performances in Barry Levinson's political satire Wag The Dog opposite such big screen heavyweights as Robert DeNiro and Dustin Hoffman and Donnie Brasco opposite Johnny Depp and Al Pacino for which she won the National Board of Review Award for Best Supporting Actress. Before that she was running from fire and ash with Tommy Lee Jones in the 1997 actioner Volcano and co-starred in 1996's The Juror opposite Alec Baldwin and Demi Moore. She also co-starred with Catherine Keener in Walking and Talking.

Among her television credits: HBO's "If These Walls Could Talk," "Kingfish: A Story of Huey P. Long" opposite John Goodman, John Frankenheimer's "Attica," and "Girls in Prison."

She won an Emmy Award for her performance in the daytime drama "Another World."

She will next join Return to Paradise co-star Vince Vaughn for Gus Van Sant's motion picture remake of Psycho. Heche lives in Los Angeles.
