IN TOO DEEP
(Preston Boyd) multiple talents have afforded him the opportunity
to work with some of the best filmmakers of our time and, as a
result, he has joined their rank. His first co-directing and co-writing
effort, the 1996 feature film BIG NIGHT, in which he also starred,
earned him numerous accolades, including the Waldo Salt Screenwriting
Award at the Sundance Film Festival, a Recognition of Excellence
by the National Board of Review, an Independent Spirit Award,
the Critics Prize at the Deauville Film Festival, and honors from
the New York Film Critics and the Boston Society of Film Critics.
BIG NIGHT was also one of the most commercially successful independent
films of all time.
His second project, THE IMPOSTORS, which he wrote, directed, co-produced,
and in which he starred was an Official Selection at the 1998
Cannes Film Festival. Stanley was also nominated for an Emmy for
his portrayal of Walter Winchell in the critically acclaimed HBO
film "Winchell," and for his role in Steven Bochco's
series "Murder One."
One of the industry's busiest actors, he was also recently seen
in a leading role in Michael Hoffman's adaptation of A MIDSUMMER
NIGHT'S DREAM, which co-starred Michelle Pfeiffer, Kevin Kline
and Calista Flockhart.
