MOLLY SHANNON joined "Saturday Night Live" in 1995 and has scored with the eclectic characters that she creates. The jittery but pushy Catholic school girl Mary Katherine Gallagher and her parodies of Courtney Love, Monica Lewinsky and Liza Minnelli continue to be a highlight in the weekly show.

During her busy summer hiatus in 1998, Shannon completed starring roles in two motion pictures. In the comedy "Analyze This," Shannon co-stars opposite Billy Crystal and Robert De Niro. She then segued into production on "Never Been Kissed," which tells the story of a struggling reporter, Drew Barrymore, who is forced to go back to high school undercover in order to get her story. She also appears in "Superstar," based upon her "SNL" character, Mary Katherine Gallagher, which is currently in production in Toronto.

Prior to joining "Saturday Night Live" Shannon co-wrote and starred in "The Rob and Molly Show," an improvisational show at Los Angeles' Upfront Comedy Theatre.

Her television credits include guest appearances on "Seinfeld," "Ellen," "The Single Guy," "The John Laroquette Show" and "Twin Peaks." Shannon is from Shaker Heights, Ohio, and holds a drama degree from New York University's prestigious Tisch School of the Arts.
