GEORGE CLOONEY (Major Archie Gates) was last seen starring in the
critically acclaimed "Out of Sight," the film adaptation of Elmore
Leonard's best-selling novel. Clooney earned accolades for his portrayal of
charming fugitive bank robber Jack Foley. Most recently, he completed production
on the Coen brothers' "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" and began a
starring role in Warner Bros.' "The Perfect Storm."
He is also known to television audiences for his Emmy, Golden Globe, Screen
Actors Guild and People's Choice-nominated portrayal of Dr. Douglas Ross on
NBC's hit medical drama, "ER."
Clooney grew up in Kentucky, the son of American Movie Classics network host
Nick Clooney, nephew of singer Rosemary Clooney and the cousin of actor Miguel
Ferrer. He moved to Los Angeles in 1982, determined to pursue an acting career,
but spent his first year in Hollywood unemployed. However, he soon appeared in
such television series as "Sisters," "Roseanne," "The
Facts of Life," "Bodies of Evidence" and "Baby Talk"
before emerging as one of the stellar ensemble lead cast of "ER."
On stage, Clooney performed in the award-winning "Vicious" at
Chicago's renowned Steppenwolf Theatre. He also appeared in theatrical
productions of "Wrestlers," "The Writer," "The
Biz," "South Pacific" and "In My Father's House."
