STEVE ZAHN (Wayne Wayne Wayne, Jr.) is a multi-talented actor with extensive credits on stage and screen. Most recently, he starred in "Out of Sight," the Jersey Films/Universal comedy/drama based on Elmore Leonard's best selling novel and also starring George Clooney, Jennifer Lopez and Ving Rhames. This past year Zahn also starred in the comedy "Safe Men," as well as in the romantic comedy "Forces of Nature".
This Christmas, Zahn will provide one of the voices in Columbia Picture's "Stuart Little." He will be seen next year in Miramax's modern-day retelling of "Hamlet" opposite Ethan Hawke. Currently, Zahn is in the production on the Warner Bros./Bel Air Entertainment dark comedy "Shiny New Enemies."
Zahn starred in Tom Hanks' directorial debut "That Thing You Do!" as Lenny, the lead guitarist of "The Wonders," a struggling band whose rise to fame is chronicled after they release a Top-40 single.
Zahn was also seen in 20th Century Fox's comedy "The Object of My Affection" opposite Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd and in the feature adaptation of Eric Bogosian's play "subUrbia," reprising the role he created in the off- Broadway production. The film was directed by Richard Linklater.
Zahn got his start in Minnesota after crashing the audition of a local production of "Biloxi Blues" and winning the lead role. He then trained at the prestigious American Repertory Theatre in Cambridge, Mass., before moving to New York and being cast in Tommy Tune's national tour of "Bye, Bye Birdie," traveling with the show for 13 months. Zahn then played opposite Ethan Hawke in "Sophistry" at the renowned Playwright's Horizon, where he caught the eye of Ben Stiller, who cast him in his feature film "Reality Bites," also starring Hawke. Zahn's additional feature credits include roles in "Crimson Tide," directed by Tony Scott, and "Race the Sun," a drama written by Barry Morrow.
