HAPPY, TEXAS

ILLEANA DOUGLAS (Ms. Schaefer) has been able to bridge a career in independent and studio films with a series of acclaimed performances. She received critical praise for her portrayal of singer/songwriter Denise Waverly in Allison Anders' "Grace of My Heart," a role for which she earned a London Film Critics Award nomination. In addition, she had a memorable role in Martin Scorsese's "Cape Fear" and in the cult-classic screwball tragedy "Search & Destroy," directed by famed artist David Salle.

This fall, Douglas will be seen in the new Fox TV series "Action." Her upcoming film projects include "The Last Treasure," a romantic comedy opposite Denis Leary and directed by Tom DiCillo, as well as "Life Without Dick."

Douglas' additional film credits include "Picture Perfect," "Quiz Show," "Goodfellas," "Alive," "Wedding Bell Blues" and "Grief." Most recently, Douglas starred opposite Stephen Rea in the independent comedy "Hacks" and Kevin Costner in Warner Bros.' "Message in a Bottle". She will next star opposite Kevin Bacon in David Koepp's "A Stir of Echoes."

Douglas has written, produced and directed three short films -- "The Perfect Woman," which won Best Short Film at the Aspen Short's Festival and was nominated for a CableACE Award; "Boy Crazy, Girl Crazier"; and "Everybody Just Stay Calm," a comedic documentary about independent filmmaking -- which play regularly on Bravo and the Independent Film Channel.

Her television credits include "The Larry Sanders Show," where she starred as Garry Shandling's girlfriend in the final season, "Seinfeld" where she played "Carrot Girl", the CBS miniseries "Bella Mafia," HBO's "Weapons of Mass Destruction" and TNT's "Rough Riders."
