CHRISTINA RICCI (Katrina Van Tassel) is one of Hollywood's most
respected young actors. Most recently she has been nominated for a Golden Globe
Award, an American Comedy Award, and an Independent Spirit Award as Best Actress
for her work in "The Opposite of Sex."
Having made a seamless transition into mature roles, Ricci also starred in
Vincent Gallo's "Buffalo 66" and "Pecker," directed by John
Waters. In addition, she made a cameo appearance as a young girl on an acid trip
opposite Johnny Depp in "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas," directed by
Christian's performance at age 8 in a school play caught the attention of a
local theater critic, who suggested to her parents that she consider an acting
career. Ricci made her professional acting debut one year later in the movie
"Mermaids," starring Cher and Winona Ryder and continued to earn
critical acclaim with her memorable performance as Wednesday Addams in "The
Addams Family" and "Addams Family Values."
In 1995, she received the prestigious N.A.T.O. ShowEast Star of the Year
Award and the Star of Tomorrow Award form the Motion Picture Booker's Club for
her strong performances in films - most notably for her $100 million-plus box
office successes, "The Addams Family" and "Casper."
In 1997, Ricci co-starred in Ang Lee's ensemble film "The ice
Storm," with Kevin Kline, Sigourney Weaver, Joan Allen and Elijah Wood,
receiving rave reviews for her performance. She was last seen in the independent
features "Desert Blue" and "200 Cigarettes," also starring
Ben Affleck and Courtney Love.
Ricci is currently on location in Paris under the direction of Sally Potter
("Orlando") on the World War II drama "The Man Who Cried,"
which co-stars Johnny Depp, Cate Blanchett and John Turturro.
