PLAY IT TO THE BONE

Along with partner Ron Shelton, STEPHEN CHIN (Producer) co-founded Shanghai'd Films, a company devoted to making films outside of the Hollywood studio system.

Educated at Yale College and Yale Law School, Chin practiced corporate and securities law in Washington, D.C., and served on the Justice Cluster of the Clinton Presidential transition team in 1992. He left the world of politics for the entertainment industry as the vice president and chief operating officer of Woods Entertainment. During his tenure, the company produced such films as "KIDS," "Scream," "Things To Do In Denver When You're Dead ""Beautiful Girls," "Citizen Ruth," "Swingers," "Wide Awake" and "Copland."

In 1997, Mr. Chin embarked on a career as an independent producer, serving as executive producer of Harmony Korine's cult film, "Gummo," winner of the International Critics Prize at the Venice Film Festival and KNF Award at the Rotterdam Film Festival. Most recently, Chin produced the critically acclaimed production of "Another Day In Paradise," starring James Woods, Melanie Griffith, Vincent Kartheiser and Natasha Gregson Wagner. Directed by Larry Clark, Chin co-wrote the script with Christopher Landon, based on the book by Eddie Little.

As co-founder of Shanghai'd Films, Chin brings his knowledge and experience of independent filmmaking to complement Shelton's talents and create an innovative hybrid of the two.
