JOSEPH FIENNES has appeared in three feature films: as Laurence in the recent romantic comedy "Martha

- Meet Frank, Daniel and Laurence" with Rufus Sewell, Tom Hollander and Monica Potter. as Christopher in Bertolucci's "Stealing Beauty" and, most recently as Dudley in "Elizabeth I" with Cate Blanchett and Geoffrey Rush.

He has an impressive career in the theater, including seasons at the Royal Shakespeare Company where he played two leading Shakespearean roles: Troilus in "Troilus and Cressida" and Silvius in "As You Like It." Also at the RSC he played Jesus in Dennis Potter's play "The Son of Man," Lacemaire in Simon Callow's production of "Les Enfants du Paradis" and the leading role of Rafe in Peter Whelan's play "The Herbal Bed" about the life of Shakespeare. His other theater work includes "A Month in the Country" opposite Helen Mirren and "A View From the Bridge," both in London's West End.

Joseph Fiennes was born in England and was brought up in Ireland. After leaving art school he worked with the Young Vic Youth Theater and then trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.
