WHOOPI GOLDBERG has won numerous awards and considerable acclaim for her work in film, television and theater and is equally well known for her humanitarian efforts.

She earned an Oscar nomination and a Golden Globe Award for her film debut in The Color Purple and won the Academy Award and Golden Globe for her performance in the box-office smash Ghost. Her films also include Jumpin' Jack Flash, Sister Act, Made in America, Boys on the Side, Ghosts of Mississippi and How Stella Got Her Groove Back. She also performed a triumphant run on Broadway in "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum."

On television, Goldberg appeared on the series "Star Trek: The Next Generation" and "Bagdad Café," hosted her own late-night talk show and has co-hosted eight "Comic Relief" and three Academy Awards telecasts. She appeared in ABC's "Cinderella" and "A Knight in Camelot," in addition to the new "Hollywood Squares," which she executive produces as well.

Goldberg has been honored with multiple NAACP Image, People's Choice and Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards. She wrote the children's book Alice, and her Book made the New York Times best-seller list and has been published around the world.
