GUILLAUME CANET (Etienne) has extensive acting experience in theater, television and film. He also has directed a number of stage productions.

Canet's breakthrough came in the theater in "La Ville dont Le Prince est un Enfant" with Christophe Malavoy, directed by Pierre Boutron at the Theatre Hebertot. His other stage credits include "Grande Ecole" at the Theatre 14, directed by Patrice Kerbrat, and "Les Enfants du Paradis" at Theatre du Rond-Point, directed by Marcel Marechal.

After appearing in several television features, Canet co-starred with Jean Rochefort in the feature film "Barracuda," directed by Philippe Haïm. His additional feature film credits include Remi Waterhouse's "Je règle mon Pas sur le Pas de mon Père," Christian Leigh's "Sentimental Education," Pierre Jolivet's "En Plein Coeur," Jerry Schatzberg's "The Day the Ponies Come Back," and Andrezj Zulawski's upcoming "La Fidélité," co-starring with Sophie Marceau.

Most recently, Canet was nominated for the Most Promising Young Actor at the 1999 César Awards for his role in Pierre Jolivet's "En Plein Coeur," which also stars Virginie Ledoyen.
