THE PERFECT STORM

Producer GAIL KATZ previously produced Wolfgang Petersen's "Air Force One," which was nominated for two Academy Awards, and the box office hit "Outbreak." She executive produced "In the Line of Fire," which earned three Oscar nominations, and also co-produced Petersen's "Shattered." She was most recently producer of the Chris Columbus feature "Bicentennial Man," starring Robin Williams, which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Make-up Design.

Katz serves as president of Radiant Productions, in partnership with Petersen. The company is actively developing feature films and recently signed a deal with CBS to create and develop hour-long television series and movies-of-the-week. Katz recently served as executive producer on the Radiant theatrical features "Instinct," with Anthony Hopkins and Cuba Gooding, Jr.; the remake of "Mighty Joe Young," which earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Visual Effects, starring Bill Paxton and Charlize Theron; and "Red Corner," starring Richard Gere.

After graduating from the University of California at Berkeley with a Bachelor's Degree in economics and political science and receiving a Master of Business Administration degree from Yale University, Katz worked in investment banking before entering the film industry to do corporate finance and film financing at Embassy Communications.

She began her production career as a vice president at New World Pictures after seguing from her position as vice president of finance there. While at New World, she became associated with Petersen on "Shattered." She and the filmmaker brought the film to MGM, where it was ultimately made and their producing partnership was formed.

In addition to a busy calendar of career, marriage and family activities, Katz is involved in a number of political and charitable causes. Last November, she was honored with Hadassah's Women of Distinction Award in recognition of her lifelong career achievements and contributions to society.
