BARRY PEPPER has in a few short years become one of the most sought after young actors in Hollywood. His most recent films include The Green Mile, with Tom Hanks; Enemy of the State, opposite Will Smith and Gene Hackman; and Battlefield Earth, starring John Travolta. He made a career breakthrough several years earlier with his unforgettable performance as the devout Private Jackson in Steven Spielberg's Academy Award-winning Saving Private Ryan.

Raised since the age of five by his family on a 50-foot sailboat christened the "Moonlight," Pepper spent his childhood traveling through the South Pacific Islands, educated primarily by his parents through correspondence courses. When the family returned to their native Canada, Pepper spent two years in college before discovering his passion for acting through his involvement in the Vancouver Actor's Studio. Soon after he began securing roles in such TV movies and pilots as "A Killer Among Friends," with Patty Duke; "Johnny's Girl," with Treat Williams; and the miniseries "Titanic" with George C. Scott. In Canada he is best known for his work on the award-winning series, "Madison."

Pepper's other film credits include 20th Century-Fox's Firestorm and Urban Safari, a 1995 independent film that debuted at the Cannes Film Festival.
