SUGAR AND SPICE
Australian filmmaker FRANCINE MCDOUGALL makes her feature film directorial debut with the biting comedy Sugar & Spice, bringing an outsider's irreverent, edge-of-the- envelope point-of-view to American teen ambitions.
McDougall worked for several years as a photographer before making her directorial/writing debut with the short film Pig!, which won the prize for best short film at the 1998 Sundance Film Festival and has collected over eight awards internationally. McDougall's second short film The Date premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. McDougall recently wrote, produced and directed a six part documentary series called "Mosaic" which looks at the various communities and sub-cultures of Los Angeles, for public television station
KCET. She has also directed numerous commercials.
