Following the critical and box-office success of No Way Out,
ROGER DONALDSON again joins with Kevin Costner for the second collaboration of their careers — this time with the thriller Thirteen Days, a vivid dramatization of the personal dilemmas at the heart of the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Australian-born Donaldson began his career producing and directing television
commercials. His first feature film, Sleeping Dogs, was a major force in convincing New
Zealand politicians that a film commission should be established. His second film in
New Zealand, Smash Palace, received critical praise internationally.
Donaldson went on to direct The Bounty starring Anthony Hopkins and Mel Gibson, Marie, Cocktail starring Tom Cruise, Cadillac Man, White Sands, The Getaway, Species and Dante's Peak starring Pierce Brosnan.
