DOWN TO EARTH

CHRIS ROCK (Lance Barton! Screenwriter/Executive Producer) has emerged as one of America's most important comedic voices. A Brooklyn, New York native and veteran of stand-up comedy for more than twelve years, Rock first gained prominence on "Saturday Night Live" where he spent three seasons.

He made his feature film debut in "Beverly Hills Cop II" and went on to star in such films as "Lethal Weapon 4;" "Dogma;" "CB4" and "New Jack City" as well as the recently released "Nurse Betty." He is the voice of the title character in the upcoming animated/live action comedy "Osmosis Jones." Additionally, he will also be seen in the upcoming MTV Films/Paramount Pictures comedy "Pootie Tang" which is based on a character from his award winning HBO series.

On the television front, among the awards Rock has received include two Emmy Awards for his 1996 HBO special, "Bring The Pain," and an Emmy for Best Writing for HBO's "The Chris Rock Show." Rock also received a 1998 Grammy Award for his comedy CD "Roll with the New" and a 2000 Grammy Award for his comedy CD "Bigger and Blacker."

Rock's debut book, Rock This! (Hyperion 1997) spent time on both The New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestseller lists.
