JULIA STILES was recently seen in the smash hit SAVE THE LAST DANCE, which grossed over $88 million at the box office. She has also been appearing as some of the Shakespeare's most interesting heroines. She appeared as the shrew in Disneys' 10 THINGS I HATE BOUT YOU, which also starred O's Andrew Keegan. She recently co-starred in HAMLET for director Michael Almereyda. The film starred Ethan Hawke as the princely Dane, Stiles as Ophelia, Sam Shepard as the ghost, Diane Verona as Gertrude, and Bill Murray as Polonius. Julia was also seen co-starring in DOWN TO YOU, opposite Freddie Prinze Jr.

Stiles was last seen on television on the highly rated NBC mini-series THE SIXTIES, from producer Linda Obst. Previously she appeared opposite Ellen Barkin and Oprah Winfrey in the ABC/Harpo Films special presentation BEFORE WOMEN HAD WINGS. Her additional film credits include Alan J. Pakula's THE DEVILS' OWN with Harrison Ford and Brad Pit, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU NOT with Claire Danes, and WIDE AWAKE with Rosie O'Donnell.

Stiles came to the attention of Hollywood when her riveting performance in Michael Steinber's WICKED was seen at the 1998 Sundance Film Festival. Her talent for writing the screenplay THE ANARCHIST'S DAUGHTER also earned her a spot as one of the twelve scripts selected for the 1998 Sundance Institute's Writers Lab.

She began her career on the New York stage, appearing in a number of plays at La Mama and the Kitchen Theatre, including Everyday Newt Burman, Matthew, School of Life, and, most recently, the MacWelmann's The Sandalwood Box.
