OSMOSIS JONES
After landing back-to-back starring roles in three features last year, MOLLY
SHANNON (Mrs. Boyd) has successfully segued from television to film. Shannon will soon be seen in the romantic comedy "Serendipity," opposite John Cusack and Kate Beckinsdale. directed by Peter Chelsom and scheduled for August release. She recently completed production on the independent comedy "Wet Hot American Summer," co starring Janeane Garofalo and David Hyde Pierce, and is currently shooting "The Guest."
Shannon was most recently seen as Betty Lou Who in Ron Howard's highly successful "The Grinch that Stole Christmas," opposite Jim Carrey. Her additional feature film credits include the title role in the comedy "Superstar," "A Night at the Roxbury," the hit comedy "Analyze This," opposite Robert De Niro and Billy Crystal, Todd Solondz's "Happiness," and "Never Been Kissed," with Drew Barrymore.
Shannon spent six seasons as a member of the repertory company at "Saturday
Night Live." Primarily known for the eclectic characters she created and her parodies of
Courtney Love, Liza Minnelli, Monica Lewinsky and "The View"'s Meredith Vieira, her
Mary Katherine Gallagher character continued to be a highlight in its revitalized
ensemble cast.
Prior to joining "SNL," Shannon appeared at the Up Front Comedy Theater in Los Angeles in "The Rob and Molly Show," an improvisational show which she co-wrote with Rob Muir.
