In addition to The Shipping News, JULIANNE MOORE  co-stars in Stephen Daldry's forthcoming The Hours, with Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman and Bart Freundlich's World Traveler, starring Billy Crudup.

In 1999, Moore received Academy and Screen Actors Guild award nominations in addition to several critics' awards for her performance as Sarah Miles in Neil Jordan's The End of the Affair opposite Ralph Fiennes. For her role in Paul Thomas Anderson's Magnolia, Moore garnered a SAG Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Her recent credits also indude An Ideal Husband (Golden Globe Award nomination), co-starring Cate Blanchett, Jordan's adaptation of Samuel Beckett's Not I and A Map of the World, with Sigourney Weaver. Earlier this year, she starred opposite Anthony Hopkins in Ridley Scott's Hannibal and David Duchovny in Ivan Reitman's Evolution.

For her performance as Amber Waves in Anderson's Boogie Nights, Moore received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. She was also nominated for Independent Spirit Awards for both Robert Altman's Short Cuts and Todd Haynes' Safe. Moore received critical acdaim for her portraits of Yelena in Louis Malle's Vanya on 42nd Street and Dora Maar in James Ivory's Surviving Picasso.

In addition, her credits include The Big Lebowski, Steven Spielberg's box office blockbuster The Lost World, Freundlich's The Myth of Fingerprints, Altman's Cookie's Fortune, Psycho, directed by Gus Van Sant, The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, Benny and Joon, The Fugitive, Nine Months and Assassins.

Later this year, Moore will again collaborate with Todd Haynes on Far from Heaven, co-starring Dennis Quaid. Julianne was recently named the new spokesperson for Revlon.
