CROSSROADS

ANN CARLI (Producer) has played a significant role in the fields of music, film and video since she began her professional career in New York with E.G. Records. She worked there for two years before moving to Japan, where she served as an interpreter for David Bowie's "Serious Moonlight" tour.

Back in the United States, Carli signed on with the fledgling Jive Records as their second employee, and she quickly ascended to the post of senior vice president of artist development for the Zomba Music Group. There she nurtured a number a f bands, such as DJ Jazzy & the Fresh Prince, Billy Ocean and A Flock of Seagulls among others, into prominence, and helped Jive/Zomba grow into the largest independent music entity in the world.

In 1993, Carli produced her first feature film "I Like It Like That," which garnered four Independent Spirit Awards and a 1994 New York Critics Circle Award. Since then she has produced two shorts, "Sure Shot" and "Blossoms and Veils," which was written and directed by "Crossroads" screenwriter Shonda Rhimes and starred Jada Pinkett-Smith. She was also the co-producer of the feature "Brother," a Japanese-British- American co-production released in 2001.

In 1996, Carli became the president of Will Smith Enterprises, overseeing the development of numerous film and television projects as well as Smith's musical career. She also executive produced the soundtrack for "Men in Black," which garnered a 1997 Grammy Award as well as American Music Award and MTV Music Award.

Carli was awarded the Golden Ring Award in 1999 for outstanding contributions by an Asian-American to the arts and entertainment industry. Also in that year, she was named one of the 100 most influential Asian-Americans of the decade by A. Magazine.

In 2000, Carli started her own independent film production company, Fuzzy Bunny Films, Inc. Subsequent to making "Crossroads," she formed a production company with Spears' manager Larry Rudolph and with Spears herself to develop future film projects.
