SHOWTIME

RENE RUSSO (Chase Renzi) continues to show her range and versatility with each role. Sultry and captivating as an investigator in the recent remake of the 1968 classic The Thomas Crown Affair, with Pierce Brosnan, Russo also has a penchant for comedy, as evidenced by her starring role in the hit romantic comedy Tin Cup, with Kevin Costner and Don Johnson. She showed her depth as a dramatic actress starring with Mel Gibson, Gary Sinese and Deiroy Lindo as a mother of a kidnapped boy in the Touchstone thriller Ransom, directed by Ron Howard.

She will soon be seen starring with Tom Sizemore and Tim Allen in the Disney comedy Big Trouble, directed by Barry Sonnenfeld and based on the novel by Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist Dave Barry.

Russo first gained attention playing an internal affairs detective opposite Mel Gibson and Danny Glover in the phenomenal hit Lethal Weapon 3, garnering critical acclaim for her portrayal, and in 1998 she reprised the role in Lethal Weapon 4. Russo subsequently starred with Clint Eastwood and John Malkovich in the box-office success In The Line of Fire, followed by a starring role opposite Dustin Hoffman and Morgan Freeman in the thriller Outbreak. She then starred with John Travolta, Gene Hackman and Danny DeVito in the acclaimed Get Shorty; as socialite Gertrude Lintz in the heartwarming Buddy; and with Robert De Niro and Jason Alexander in the live action/special effects feature Rocky and Bullwinkle. Since her 1989 film debut in Major League, Russo's additional film credits include Mr. Destiny, One Good Cop, and Freejack.

At 18, Russo was discovered at a Rolling Stones concert and encouraged to become a fashion model. Soon afterward, she moved to New York and became a top model for the Ford Agency, going on to grace the covers of every fashion magazine throughout her successful modeling career.

Russo and her husband, screenwriter Danny Gilroy, live in Los Angeles with their daughter Rose.
