PETER SARSGAARD (Jack Wimmer) will soon be seen in the Signature Theatre Company's acclaimed Off-Broadway revival of Lanford Wilson's Burn This, opposite Flizabeth Shue. His next big screen project is Shattered Glass, starring opposite Hayden Christensen for screenwriter/director Billy Ray. Stave Zahn and Chloe Sevigny also star.

Sarsgaard most recently co-starred opposite Harrison Ford and Liam Neeson in the thriller K-19: Time Widowmaker, directed by Kathryn Bigelow from a screenplay by Christopher Kyle and Louis Nowra. K-19 is based on the true story of Russia's first nuclear ballistic submarine, which suffered a malfunction in its nuclear reactor on its maiden voyage in the North Atlantic in 1961.

Sarsgaard starred opposite Val Kilmer in The Salton Sea, the twisted tale of a man (Kilmer) who goes undercover among a group of drug addicts to avenge his wife's death. Sarsgaard played Kilmer's closest compatriot in the underground world of crystal meth. The film marked the debut of director Di Caruso.

He stars opposite Rupert Everett and Kathy Bates in the upcoming black comedy Unconditional Love. Directed by P.J. Hogan, the film follows the lover of a murdered pop music star who joins forces with a mourning fan to find the killer. He starred opposite Molly Parker in Wayne Wang's Center of the World, the digital film in which the audience plays voyeur to a man and a woman from two different worlds who come together over a weekend in Las Vegas.

Sarsgaard starred in Boys Don‘t Cry opposite Hilary Swank and Chloe Sevigny for director Kimberly Peirce. He received critical acclaim for his portrayal of John Lotter, the tightly wound young man who first accepts Brandon Teena into his small-town circle, then begins to suspect her true identity.

In Showtime's acclaimed feature Freak City, produced by Michael Stipe and Sandy Stern's Single Cell Pictures, Sarsgaard played 'Cal,' a young quadriplegic who becomes romantically involved with a woman played by Samantha Mathis. Directed by Lynne Litman, the drama also starred Natalie Cole, Jonathan Silverman, and Marlee Matlin.

Sarsgaard first gained notice as Leonardo di Caprio's rival and John Malkovich's son in The Man in Iron Mask. Other films include Larry Clark's Another Day in Paradise and Tim Robbins' Dead Man Walking with Sean Penn and Susan Sarandon.

A member of Douglas Carter Beane's New York-based theater company, The Drama Department, Sarsgaard appeared in their Off-Broadway production, Kingdom of Earth, directed by John Cameron Mitchell. He attended the Actors' Studio Program at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, after which he was cast in Horton Foote's Laura Dennis at the Signature Theatre Company Off-Broadway.
