GARCELLE BEAUVAIS-NILON (CNN
Reporter, Nicole) recently starred in the feature film "Double Take,"
starring Eddie Griffin and Orlando Jones. On television, she is currently a
series regular on "NYPD Blue," playing Assistant D.A. Valerie Haywood.
This is her second season on the acclaimed drama. She also starred for five
years on the WB Network's comedy series "The Jamie Foxx Show." She
will also appear in TNT's "Second String," a football drama
co-starring Jon Voight, Gil Bellows, and Richard T. Jones that will air next
Born in St. Marc, Haiti, Beauvais-Nilon
immigrated to the U.S. at age seven, with her siblings and her mother, who
sought greater opportunities for her family. While her mother attended nursing
school in New York, Beauvais-Nilon stayed in boarding school, then with family
in Massachusetts. Eventually, the family moved to Miami, where she made her
debut television acting appearance in an episode of "Miami Vice."
Encouraged by friends and family,
Beauvais-Nilon began modeling at age 17 in print ads, catalogs, and commercials.
Though acting demands her full attention at this time in her career, she
recently became a spokesperson for Neutrogena.
In 1991, with acting studies dominating
her interests, Beauvais-Nilon moved to Los Angeles to focus on her new career.
Among her most prominent early television credits was a starring role as the
smart, ambitious and sassy young model, Cynthia Nichols in the Aaron
Spelling/Fox series, "Models, Inc."
