CHARLIZE THERON (Stella Bridger) often portrays characters that embody indomitable strength and beauty. She has staffed in over 15 movies in less than seven years, including Tom Hanks' directorial debut "That Thing You Do!," Woody Allen's "Celebrity" and "The Curse of the Jade Scorpion." More recently, Theron starred in "Trapped" and "Waking Up in Reno," and her additional feature films include "The Devil's Advocate," "Mighty Joe Young," "The Astronaut's Wife," "The Legend of Bagger Vance, "Men of Honor," "Reindeer Games, "The Yards" and "Sweet November."

In 1999, Theron gave a notable performance in The Cider House Rules" opposite Tobey Maguire and Michael Caine, among others. The stellar cast was honored with a nomination by the Screen Actors Guild for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Theatrical Motion Picture.

Born in South Africa, Theron was destined to perform for audiences. As a young girl. she trained as a ballerina and was rewarded by her efforts when the Joffrey Ballet of New York recruited her. When a knee injury forced her to change career direction, she discovered her love for acting. Movie audiences were first introduced to her seductive charm in "2 Days in the Valley," an independent film that satirized life in the San Fernando Valley during the 1990s.
