DENNIS QUAID (Cooper Tilson) was most recently seen with Julianne Moore in "Far From Heaven,” directed by Todd Haynes. Quaid was honored with SAG and Golden Globe Award nominations for his performance, and he won the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Actor. He also appeared in Touchstone Pictures' "The Rookie,” which was awarded an ESPY by ESPN for "Best Sports Film of the Year.” 

This Christmas, Quaid stars as General Sam Houston in Touchstone Pictures' "The Alamo,” an epic retelling of the American legend. Quaid has also completed work on "The Day After Tomorrow,” directed by Roland Emmerich, which will be released on Memorial Day weekend 2004. 

In late October, Quaid begins production in Africa on "Flight of the Phoenix” for director John Moore. The film is a remake of the classic 1965 thriller of the same name and adapted from Elleston Trevor's novel. 

Quaid appeared in the critically acclaimed suspense drama "Traffic,” directed by Steven Soderbergh, and in HBO's "Dinner with Friends,” for director Norman Jewison. 

His impressive body of work includes "Frequency,” "Any Given Sunday,” "The Parent Trap,” "Savior,” "Wyatt Earp,” and "The Right Stuff.” Other selected credits include "Switchback,” "Gang Related,” "Something to Talk About,” "Dragonheart,” "Flesh and Bone,” "Come See the Paradise,” "Everybody's All-American,” "Suspect,” "D.O.A.,” "The Big Easy,” "Innerspace” and "Breaking Away,” one of his most memorable films. He showcased his musical talents in the films "The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia,” "Tough Enough” and "Great Balls of Fire.” 

Quaid made his directorial debut for TNT with the television film "Everything that Rises” in 1998.
