GEORGE CLOONEY (Miles Massey) is an actor, producer and director.
Clooney directed and starred in Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, for which he won the Special Achievement in Film award from the National Board of Review in his directorial debut.
He starred in the blockbuster hits Ocean's Eleven and in The Perfect
Storm. He also starred in the Coen brothers' O Brother, Where Art Thou?, for which he won the 2000 Golden Globe Award as Best Actor in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy.
Clooney earned critical acclaim in the award-winning drama Three Kings and in the
Oscar-nominated Out of Sight. His previous feature film credits include starring roles in
Solaris, The Peacemaker, Batman & Robin, One Fine Day and From Dusk Till
He has starred in several television series, but is best known to TV audiences for his five years on the hit NBC drama ER. His portrayal of Dr. Douglas Ross earned him Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild, People's Choice and Emmy nominations.
Clooney is partnered with Steven Soderbergh in the film and television production company Section Eight. They produced the dark comedy
Welcome To Collinwood (Clooney also had a cameo role). He also served as executive producer of two critically acclaimed Section Eight films:
Insomnia and Far From Heaven. Section Eight also produced Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, Full Frontal
and Ocean's Eleven.
Section Eight also has a television division, under which Clooney is executive producer and director of K Street, a series for HBO that is known as "real-time fiction"; it's a show about a fictitious political consulting firm that interacts with actual people in Washington, D.C.
Clooney was also executive producer and co-star of the live television broadcast of
Fail Safe, developed through his Maysville Pictures. Fail Safe was nominated for a 2000 Golden Globe Award as Best Miniseries or Motion Picture Made for Television. The Emmy Award-winning telefilm was based on the early 1960s novel of the same name.
