THE HUMAN STAIN

GARY SINISE earned an Oscar nomination for his portrayal of Lt. Dan opposite Tom Hanks' title character in the Academy Award-winning Forrest Gump. He then went on to star in Apollo 13 reuniting with Hanks, Ransom with Mel Gibson and Rene Russo and Brian DePalma's psychological thriller Snake Eyes. More recently, Sinise has starred in the sci-fi thriller Imposter, John Frankenheimer's Reindeer Games, DePalma's Mission to Mars and Frank Darabon's The Green Mile. Additional film credits include A Midnight Clear, The Quick and the Dead, Kevin Spacey's directorial debut Albino Alligator, and Jack the Bear. He will next be seen in The Big Bounce, based on an Elmore Leonard novel and co-starring Owen Wilson and Morgan Freeman. 

Sinise directed and co-produced an adaptation of John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men in which he co-starred with John Malkovich and directed Miles from Home starring Malkovich, Richard Gere, Kevin Anderson and Helen Hunt. 

On television, Sinise earned a Golden Globe for his portrayal of Truman and an Emmy in the Frankenheimer directed George Wallace. Other television credits include My Name Is Bill W with James Woods, Stephen King's The Stand and Path to War directed by Frankheimer. 

At the age of 18, Sinise co-founded Chicago's famed Steppenwolf Theatre Company where he served as artistic director for seven years. He has since made a mark on stages all over the world, including Tony-nominated performances in the Broadway productions of One Flew Over the Cukoo's Nest and The Grapes of Wrath. He also won an Obie Award for directing a Steppenwolf Company production of Sam Shepard's True West in Chicago and New York and received a Tony nomination for directing a Broadway Run of Shepard's Buried Child
