THE CAT IN THE HAT

KELLY PRESTON (Mom) has performed in a broad range of films, portraying roles in films such as Jerry Maguire, Citizen Ruth and Twins. Her dynamic and compelling performances have proven her to be one of the leading actors of her generation. 

Born and raised in Hawaii, Preston appeared in local television commercials and began to develop an interest in an acting career. Upon graduating high school, Preston relocated to Los Angeles and enrolled at the University of Southern California, where she studied drama and theater. She ultimately transferred to UCLA and decided to commit to an acting life and shortly thereafter won her first audition. 

After assorted television and movie roles, she received her big break in a starring role opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny De Vito in the hit comedy Twins. Her additional film credits include Only You, The Perfect Bride, The Experts, Spellbinder, Space Camp, 52 Pick-Up, Secret Admirer and Mischief. Preston also starred in the Academy Award®-nominated short, Little Surprises, directed by Jeff Goldblum. 

Preston appeared to rave reviews opposite Tom Cruise in the box office smash Jerry Maguire as Avery, Maguire's ambitious and aggressive fiancée. She was also seen in a pivotal role in the acclaimed film Citizen Ruth; opposite Meg Ryan in Addicted to Love; opposite Kevin Costner in For Love of the Game; opposite Tim Robbins and Martin Lawrence in Nothing to Lose; with Eddie Murphy in Holy Man; and opposite Michael Keaton in Jack Frost

More recently she was seen starring in the movie Daddy and Them for director Billy Bob Thornton and in the movies View From the Top with Gwyneth Paltrow and as Amanda Bynes' mother in What a Girl Wants.
