With a lot of style and engaging wit, AMANDA PEET (Jill) charmed audiences and critics alike with her portrayal of dental hygienist/aspiring hit woman in the box office hit The Whole Nine Yards. She received strong reviews for her performance in Igby Goes Down opposite Jeff Goldblum, Susan Sarandon and Kieran Culkin.
Peet will next co-star with Ashton Kutcher in A Lot Like Love. Directed by Nigel Cole, the story revolves around a guy and a girl who manage to resist their mutual attraction over the years only to see fate throwing them back together. The film begins shooting in April 2004.
Peet recently completed production on Woody Allen's Melinda and Melinda co-starring with Will Ferrell, Chloe Sevigny and Johnny Lee Miller.
She was last seen in director Nancy Meyer's Something's Gotta Give in which she plays the much younger girlfriend to Jack Nicholson's character, who then falls for her mother, played by Diane Keaton. In 2003, Peet starred alongside John Cusack and Ray Liotta in the thriller Identity for director James Mangold. In 2002, she starred with Morgan Freeman and Ashley Judd in High Crimes, and in Changing Lanes, opposite Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Affleck. In 2001, she starred opposite Jason Biggs and Jack Black in the comedy Saving Silverman. Previously, Peet appeared in Isn't She Great, with Bette Midler and Nathan Lane. She also starred in Simply Irresistible, with Sarah Michelle Gellar, and in Body Shots.
Her other film credits include Peter Cohen's Whipped, Two Nina's, Take Down with Skeet Ulrich, the independent feature Jump, Southie with Donnie Wahlberg, Edward Burns' romantic comedy She's The One and One Fine Day with George Clooney and Michelle Pfeiffer.
Television audiences warmed to her when she starred as Jack on the WB drama Jack and Jill.
A native of New York, Peet graduated from Columbia University with a degree in American history. While there, she also studied acting under Uta Hagen, which ultimately led her to pursue a career in acting. Peet currently resides in Los Angeles.
