JONATHAN FRAKES (Director) has established himself at the forefront of the science fiction action-adventure genre as a director, a producer and a performer, often wearing more than one hat at a time—he directed and starred in the hits Star Trek: Insurrection and Star Trek: First Contact.

More recently, he directed the pilot episode of television's The Twilight Zone and himself returned to the screen as Commander William T. Riker in the blockbuster Star Trek: Nemesis, the tenth entry in the Star Trek franchise. He also directed the recent family-oriented, science fiction/action-adventure hit Clockstoppers.

Frakes is perhaps best known for his on-screen work as Riker on the Emmy Award-winning series Star Trek: The Next Generation and the several big screen incarnations (which also include Star Trek: Generations). He likewise sat in the director's chair for several episodes of Star Trek: TNG. His other series directing credits include Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek Voyager and Diagnosis: Murder. He also directed the CD-ROM Star Trek: Klingon.

Frakes has additionally moved into producing, serving as executive producer (in addition to directing several episodes) of the hit series Roswell and executive-producing (while starring in) the telefilm Dying to Live. Under the aegis of his production company, Goepp Circle Productions, he is currently developing the feature Illusion.

Among his lengthy list of television appearances are starring roles in the miniseries Dream West and North and South and guest appearances on Third Rock from the Sun and Oh Baby (both with his wife, actress Genie Francis). He is currently starring in the AMC continuing series The Lot and hosting the series Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction?.

Born and raised in Pennsylvania, he currently lives with his wife and two children in London. Frakes is also an accomplished trombone player and is featured on the Phish album Hoist.
