TONY SHALHOUB (Tommy "The Black” Sanz) is perhaps best known for his Emmy Award®- winning role as the eccentric detective Adrian Monk in the USA Network's hit original series "Monk.” He also won a Golden Globe® and Screen Actor's Guild® Award for that role, and serves as the show's executive producer.

Before earning wide acclaim on television, Mr. Shalhoub appeared in a wide range of feature film roles including "Spy Kids” (and its sequels), "Galaxy Quest,” "The Siege,” "A Civil Action,” "Searching for Bobby Fischer,” "The Impostors,” "Primary Colors,” "Gattaca,” "Men in Black,” "Men in Black II,” "Big Night,” "Barton Fink,” "Honeymoon in Vegas,” "Quick Change,” "Longtime Companion,” "13 Ghosts,” and "Life or Something Like It,” among others. He will soon be seen starring in "Against the Ropes,” and "The Great New Wonderful.”

For television, Mr. Shalhoub appeared as Uncle Jako in the musical "Gypsy,” starring Bette Midler, and in "That Championship Season,” directed by Paul Sorvino. He was a series regular on the sitcoms "Stark Raving Mad” and the long-running hit series "Wings.” He also had a memorable role in USA Films "The Man Who Wasn't There.”

As a director, Shalhoub made his feature debut with the independent film "Made Up,” in which he costars with his wife Brooke Adams, and Gary Sinise. His New York theater credits include such productions as "Waiting for Godot,” "Conversations with My Father,” "The Heidi Chronicles” and "The Odd Couple,” as well as the New York Shakespeare Festival productions of "Henry IV Part 1” and "Richard III.”
