KELLITA SMITH (Tanya) is a versatile actress who brings extraordinary vitality and dynamism to both her comedic and dramatic roles. Perhaps best known for her portrayal of the fun-loving, no nonsense wife "Wanda Mac,” on the award winning "The Bernie Mac Show.” Smith's memorable performances on the television series earned her three NAACP Image Award nominations. "The Bernie Mac Show” ran on the Fox network for five years, garnering such distinguished accolades as Emmy® and Peabody Awards, as well as an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Comedy Series, a TV Critics and Humanitas Award and became a two-time recipient of the Golden Satellite Award.

Born in Chicago and raised in Oakland, Smith's other television credits include "The Steve Harvey Show,” "The Parkers,” "Moesha” and "NYPD Blue.” She enjoyed recurring roles on "The Jamie Foxx Show,” "Nash Bridges,” "Malcolm and Eddie, "”Sister to Sister” and "Martin.”

Smith's film credits include performances opposite Jack Nicholson and Sean Penn in "The Crossing Guard,” and Jada Pinkett-Smith, Whoopi Goldberg and LL Cool J in "Kingdom Come.” She starred in "King's Ransom” and "Roll Bounce” as well as co-starring in the comedy "Hair Show,” opposite comedienne Mo'Nique.

At the tender age of 8, Smith was picked to narrate a Black Panther Party documentary created to engender a more fair understanding of the party's objectives. Told through the eyes of a child, the film chronicled the civil rights organization's contributions to elementary school aged children and the community at large.

Smith's first foray into acting came with a challenging two-year run in the touring company of the stage play "Telling It Like It Tiz,” a musical comedy which chronicled male/female relationships and helped usher in the popularity of Black stage plays. Her stage credits include "Jeffreys Plan,” "Thirteen Thorn” and "Feelings,” directed by Kim Bailey, for which Smith received a Best Actress theater award from the NAACP.

Smith currently lends her support to a number of philanthropic organizations including the Los Angeles based Women of Essence, a breast cancer support group for which she has helped to raise funds and awareness during the past few years.
