RENÉE ZELLWEGER (Lexie Littleton) won the Academy Award® for Best Supporting Actress in Anthony Minghella’s Cold Mountain and received Academy Award® nominations for her work in Bridget Jones’s Diary and Chicago, and recently received much acclaim for her bravura turn in Miss Potter, in which she starred and executive-produced. Zellweger only initially took an acting class to ensure her graduation with a degree in literature from the University of Texas.

Zellweger’s Academy Award® for Cold Mountain was accompanied by a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role, a Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture, a BAFTA Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role and a Broadcast Film Critics Award for Best Supporting Actress.

In addition to her Academy Award® nomination for Chicago, Zellweger also won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in Lead Role as well as a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy. Additionally, she was nominated for a BAFTA Award for her performance.

After some television work, Zellweger made her feature debut while still in Texas in Richard Linklater’s seminal coming-of-age film, Dazed and Confused. Other roles quickly followed including Ben Stiller’s Reality Bites, The Return of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and My Boyfriend’s Back.

Zellweger recently starred with Jerry Seinfeld in DreamWorks’ award-winning animated film Bee Movie, with Jim Carrey in Me, Myself & Irene and with Chris Rock and Morgan Freeman in the dark comedy Nurse Betty. She starred with William Hurt and Meryl Streep in the critically acclaimed One True Thing and opposite Robin Wright Penn and Michelle Pfeiffer in White Oleander.

Zellweger won the attention and affection of audiences and critics alike in Cameron Crowe’s Jerry Maguire, opposite Tom Cruise. Several critics groups, including the National Board of Review, named her as Best Breakthrough Performer.

Zellweger starred in Ron Howard’s story of Depression-era boxer Jim Braddock, Cinderella Man, opposite Russell Crowe, and in Peyton Reed’s stylish romantic comedy Down with Love, opposite Ewan McGregor. She starred as the seminal British everywoman in Bridget Jones’s Diary and its sequel, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, opposite Hugh Grant and Colin Firth. Zellweger also lent her voice to the animated feature Shark Tale, alongside Jack Black, James Gandolfini, Angelina Jolie, Martin Scorsese and Will Smith.

Zellweger just finished shooting Chilled in Miami, and can next be seen in the upcoming western Appaloosa, alongside Viggo Mortenson and Ed Harris, who is also directing.
