SHIRLEY KNIGHT (Mom) has done extensive work in the theatre, cinema, and television. She has received many honors during the course of her career including the Tony Award, three Emmy Awards, two Golden Globe awards, two Academy Award® nominations, the Venice Film Festival Best Actress, the Critic's prize at the Cannes Film Festival (for producing the film Dutchman), the Joseph Jefferson award, two Tony award nominations, two Drama Desk nominations, three Golden Globe nominations, and ten Emmy nominations. Knight's career has spanned more than fifty years and is still going strong with three more upcoming films – The Other Side of the Tracks, The Many Lives of Pippa Lee, and Music of My Heart – as well as her role playing Phyllis Van De Kamp (Bree's mother-in-law) in the hit television series "Desperate Housewives.”
