WESLEY SNIPES (Caz) caught the eye of director Spike Lee in his role opposite Michael Jackson in the Martin Scorsese-directed music video "Bad,ā€¯ and Lee cast him in his feature film Mo' Better Blues. That performance, coupled with Snipes' role in Major League, launched the actor's career in Hollywood.

He followed these performances with a starring role in Lee's Jungle Fever that earned him high critical praise. That same year, Snipes played diverse roles in New Jack City and The Waterdance. Both performances earned strong reviews and the following year Snipes was cast as the lead in the action thriller Passenger 57. This was followed by the critically acclaimed comedy White Men Can't Jump and the action thriller Rising Sun. Snipes went on to star in The Fan and the popular Blade franchise. He also won a Best Actor award at the Venice Film Festival for the Mike Figgis drama One Night Stand.
