BATTLE: LOS ANGELES

JONATHAN LIEBESMAN (Director) was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. After high school, he attended the South African School of Film and Drama before moving to the U.S. to study at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.

Liebesman wrote and directed the award winning short film Genesis and Catastophe, based on Roald Dahl's short story. The film was screened at numerous film festivals and generated a lot of buzz. Darkness Falls was his first directorial feature film which debuted at #1 for Revolution Studios and Sony. Liebesman was asked by Walter Parkes at DreamWorks to direct the short film Rings; the short film acted as a bridge between The Ring and The Ring 2. He directed the Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning for New Line and producer Michael Bay.

Liebesman also directed The Killing Room. The film starred Timothy Hutton, Chloe Sevingy, Peter Stormare, and Nick Cannon. Eleven Eleven films and Management 360 produced. The film was accepted and premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, and later played at the prestigious Deauville Film Festival.

Liebesman is now in production on a sequel to the smash hit Clash of the Titans.
