SUPER 8

GABRIEL BASSO (Martin) has quickly established himself as a highly sought after young actor in film and television. In addition to "Super 8,” he is currently in production on the second season of the Golden Globe® Award nominated Showtime comedy "The Big C.” Gabriel stars as "Adam,” the teenage son, of "Cathy” (three-time Emmy® Award winner Laura Linney), on the series which premiered last fall to the largest audience for a Showtime original series in eight years. Season 2 premieres Monday, June 27th.

Gabriel discovered his love for acting at age 12 while running lines with his sisters, Alexandria and Annalise, who were acting in a short film being shot in St. Louis, Missouri. Shortly after he moved to Los Angeles with his family to pursue acting full time. Gabriel quickly landed leading roles in two pilots and a guest-starring role on Nickelodeon's hugely popular "iCarly.” He has since guest starred on "Eastwick," "The Middle," and "The Haunting Hour.” In 2009, Gabriel secured a breakout role opposite John Goodman in Oscar® nominee, Tim McCanlies' feature, "Alabama Moon,” based on the Newberry Award winning novel of the same name.

Gabriel currently divides his time between acting, attending private school in Los Angeles. In this spare he enjoys sports including Kav Mcgraw, Tae Kwon Do (He is a 3rd degree black belt), Football, Soccer, Basketball, Tennis, and Ultimate Frisbee. Gabriel began playing the violin when he was 5, which he still plays in his school orchestra. Although still calling St. Louis his "home," he rarely has the opportunity to be there, Los Angeles is now his "home away from home."
