Australian born PHILIP QUAST (Saddam Hussein/Faoaz) appeared in the original Australian cast of "Les Misérables,” eventually playing the role of ‘Javert' in the UK and at the 10th Anniversary Concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London. In the UK, he has subsequently played lead roles in many West-End musicals including "Evita,” "La Cage Aux Folles,” "The Secret Garden,” and in various concerts: three times in "The Night of 1000 Voices” at the Royal Albert Hall and opposite Bryn Terfel in "Sweeney Todd.” Philip has won three Olivier Awards for Best Actor in a Musical.

He has worked extensively in theatre having performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company in "A Christmas Carol,” "Love's Labours Lost,” "Macbeth,” "The White Devil,” "Troilus,” and "Cressida.” Also at the National Theatre in "Sunday in the Park with George,” "South Pacific,” "Stuff Happens,” "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum;” and at the Donmar Warehouse in "The Fix” and "Philip Quast Live at the Donmar.”

In Australia he has appeared in many theatre productions all over the country including performances at the Sydney Theatre Company of "Into the Woods,” "Coriolanus,” "The White Devil,” "Democracy” and "The Cherry Orchard.”

For television, Philip was a "Play School” presenter on Australian TV for 17 years and his other television credits include "Brides of Christ,” "The Damnation of Harvey McHugh,” "Corridors of Power” and most recently "Bed of Roses.”

Philip has appeared in many feature films including "Clubland,” "Caterpillar Wish” and "Introducing the Dwights.” His UK television roles have included roles in "Silent Witness,” "Inspector Morse” and "Midsomer Murders,” as well as performing in radio dramas on BBC Radio.
