DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK

GARRY MCDONALD (Blackwood) attended acting school, National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) and was launched into fame in the early seventies with the groundbreaking Australian television comedy series The Aunty Jack Show. It was during this show that McDonald first showcased his character Norman Gunston, for which he is best known.

In 1974 McDonald played his first major film role in one of Australia's most iconic feature films, Picnic at Hanging Rock. He then returned to television with The Norman Gunston Show and later went on to create yet another unforgettable character in Australian Broadcasting Corporation's Mother and Son.

McDonald has also acted in many theatre productions and his more recent feature films include Moulin Rouge, Rabbit Proof Fence and The Rage in Placid Lake.
