JOEL McHALE (Rex) is currently one of the busiest actors in the business. He is starring on NBC's hit comedy series Community, has a number of films on deck and recently wrapped a much buzzed about gig as the host of the 2011 Film Independent Spirit Awards.

McHale was last seen in What's Your Number?, with Anna Faris, and The Big Year, with Steve Martin, Jack Black and Owen Wilson. He was previously seen opposite Jessica Alba in Robert Rodriguez's Spy Kids: All the Time in the World in 4D, and starring opposite Matt Damon in Steven Soderbergh's comedic thriller The Informant!

McHale continues to satirize pop culture and current events each week on E!'s The Soup. His quick wit and sharp comedic timing have made The Soup a pop-culture phenomenon. He also performs his stand-up act around the country to sold-out audiences.

Born in Rome and raised in Seattle, Washington, McHale was a history major at the University of Washington (UW), where he also was a member of the school's championship football team. In addition, he received his Master of Fine Arts degree from UW's Actor Training Program.

McHale lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two sons.
