2009 feature Up in the
Air, ANNA KENDRICK earned Screen Actors Guild, Golden Globe, BAFTA, Critics'
Choice Movie, and Academy
Award nominations. She was cited by the National Board of Review as the year's
Best Supporting Actress,
and received the MTV Movie Award for Best Breakout Star.
She will soon be seen starring in a host of movies, including David Ayer's
police drama End of Watch,
opposite Jake Gyllenhaal; the music-themed comedy Pitch Perfect, directed by
Jason Moore; Robert
Redford's all-star dramatic thriller The Company You Keep; Paul Middleditch's
Rapturepalooza; and Dylan Kidd's contemporary comedy Get a Job.
Ms. Kendrick is known to a global audience for her performances alongside
Kristen Stewart in the first four of
The Twilight Saga movies, directed respectively by Catherine Hardwicke, Chris
Weitz, David Slade, and Bill
Condon. Her other recent films include Jonathan Levine's acclaimed 50/50,
opposite Joseph Gordon-Levitt;
Kirk Jones' What to Expect When You're Expecting; and Edgar Wright's cult
favorite Scott Pilgrim vs. the
She made her feature film debut in Todd Graff's Camp, a hit at the 2003 Sundance
Film Festival. Her
performance earned her Chlotrudis and Independent Spirit Award nominations; in
2007, she was again
nominated for the latter, for her performance in Jeffrey Blitz's Rocket Science.
Ms. Kendrick is also a theater veteran, having begun her career as Dinah Lord in
the 1998 Broadway musical
production of High Society, for which she received a Drama Desk, FANY Award, and
Tony Award nominations
and won Drama League and Theatre World Awards. Since then, she has had a
featured role in the New York
City Opera staging of A Little Night Music, starring Jeremy Irons; has performed
in My Favorite Broadway/The
Leading Ladies: Live at Carnegie Hall; and has participated in workshops of Jane
Eyre and The Little Princess.
